It’s No Longer A Man’s World As Iceland Elects Its First Majority Female Parliament

Beyoncé said it best when she sang, “Who runs the world? Girls.” Well, girls may not be running the whole world yet but in Iceland people are definitely feeling the Girl Power. After the recent election, women now hold 33 seats in the country’s 63 seat Parliament. The center-right Independence Party gained the most seats at 16, and the new members will include both the youngest and oldest ever members of Iceland’s Parliament.
