OutBüro
Non-Profit NGO nonprofit discount OutBuro Membership Plans Join Us lgbtq social media online community network networking gay men m4m lesbian woman bisexual transgender queer

Does OutBüro offer non-profit discounts?

Absolutely! We offer nonprofits a % between 10-100% for the first 12-month subscription cycle. We will ask you to send us your Federal Government Letter of Determination, 501 (c)3 or (c)6 if you are in the U.S, or an equivalent type of documentation if outside of the U.S. New customers can sign up for their free trial and send in the required paperwork before the end of the 1-week trial period or ahead of time.

As of April 2022, OutBüro now offers as part of a Monthy or Yearly membership, the option to be an OutBüro affiliate/influencer. As an LGBTQ+ community non-profit, you/it, have persons or other organizations you serve as part of your mission. All non-profits need funds to operate and most LGBTQ+ non-profits scrape by to meet the needs of the community it serves, let alone provide staff with competitive wages. How about adding an additional residual income source to the mix?

“Oh, but we are a non-profit we cannot MAKE money,” I sometimes hear. Hogwash! Your financial person can classify the commissions as a donation. Your non-profit supporters, if they sign up under your referring account are paying for a service in which a portion of the proceeds is being gifted to the organization. Call it income, or call it your supporters supporting you/it in yet another way. Those supporters who also join as an affiliate/influencer is further supporting your organization as you earn 3 levels deep.

Check out the Affiliate or Influencer Income Estimator for more information and goal setting.

Income Potential

As a Yearly/Monthly OutBüro member, you have the option to join our Affiliate/Influencer program and earn residual income from those that you spur to join the site. The system is set to 3-levels earning 10% on Level 1, 5% on Level 2 and 2.5% on Level 3 as long as the memberships remain in active status. Check out the Affiliate/Influencer Income Estimator. This is for all OutBüro members, but additionally for those running a group on OutBüro.

Locate Groups of Interest

  1. From the top menu if on a desktop or tablet, under the Community menu item, choose a Group Category or All. On a smartphone it is under the hamburger menu icon.
  2. Scroll or use the Search feature to find Open and Closed groups.
  3. Learn More – For a brief introduction to the group scope and intent, click the Learn More link.
  4. Join – Click the Join Group button at the top yet the bottom-left area of the Group Cover/Header area.
    1. Open Groups – As soon as your request to join you’ll be admitted and be a group member.
    2. Closed Groups – After requesting to join, the group owner/admin/moderator will either approve or reject your group membership request.
    3. Secret Groups -As mentioned you will not know of Secret groups unless you are invited to join them. If invited, make your choice if you would like to accept the invitation.

Create a Group

  • If you don’t locate a group currently active on the site that suits your interests, consider creating a group. We love to have you participate and grow the community.
  • Create: From the main group page, near the top on the right side click the Creat Group button.
  • Name: Enter a Name for the group.
  • Description: Provide a group Description.
  • Type – Choose the type of group it will be. The options are open, closed, and secret.
    • Open – This type of group allows anyone to join and participate and is displayed in the list of groups and may be found via the group search. Being Open means too that the contents of the group is visible to any site member, even non-members, and internet search engines. A non-group member may not interact in the group such as posting or commenting, they may only view it. To comment or post, they would need to join the group.
    • Closed – The contents of the group is not visible to non-group members and is also not indexed by search engines. A closed group is displayed in the list of groups and may be found via the group search. In this type of group, persons must request to join or be invited to join. Once a group member they may participate.
    • Secret – The content of the group is not visible to non-group members and is also not indexed by search engines. A secret group is NOT displayed in the list of groups and may NOT be found via the group search. In this type of group, persons must be invited to join. Once a group member they may participate.
  • Submit – To complete this step click the Create Group button in the bottom right of the dialog box.
  • Group Logo – Like a profile headshot, the group logo is used on the site as you see on this listing of groups. We love branding so if you create a group and are not sure what to use or how to create a logo, we’d be happy to help. Please submit a Support Ticket and request help. A square image is best and we recommend 400×400 pixels in JPG or PNG format. Remember to respect copyrights.
  • Group Cover/Header – Just as on your profile page, a group page may and should have a group header image. Ideally, the image would have a relation to the group. If you are stumbling to find a related image, a great Pride image with rainbow flags waving is always great. Remember to respect copyrights. Group cover/header images are recommended to be a 3:1 ratio such as 1200×400 in JPG or PNG format.

Invite Others

  1. Now that you are in a group and/or created a group, let’s get others involved.
  2. From the group page, use the Invite button in the bottom-right area of the group header/Cover.

Down Low DL on OutBuro connecting lgbtq social media online community network networking gay lesbian bisexual transgender queer

Down low? Bruh, we got ya.

Today for many reasons people around the country and world are secretly gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or queer. This is commonly known as being on the Down Low or DL for short. Everyone needs to feel safe, welcomed, and able to connect with others. They want and need to explore the LGBTQ+ community on their terms right where they are.

On OutBuro.com we got you

The OutBüro social community for the LGBTQ+ community understands this and has the ability for you to be as out, loud, and proud as you’d like or as DL as you like. It is up to you and you can change your profile settings at any time.

If you choose, you can even have two profiles on OutBuro.com. You might use one profile account to interact with general and professional groups and maybe leverage the ability to earn a passive residual income with our referral/affiliate program. Perhaps a second account that uses either a fake name or a user name like “DallasBear77” to explore all the gay/bi/trans/queer male-centric groups – as an example. There are many groups covering gender/sexuality, regional, lifestyle, hobbies, and more. Check out the Joining and Creating Groups article.

It’s your choice. If you choose to use more than one account each would require a unique email address and a Yearly or Monthly membership plan for full site access, but it’s your choice. You decide.

Get Connected on the DL

The first method is to use a fake name. You can create a fake profile first and last name when initially setting up your new OutBuro.com account, or change your name at any time. You may also change the account/profile associated email address at any time too.

To manage your Profile Preferences including general privacy settings and how your name or user name will appear on the site/app, navigate to your Profile, then your About tab, and next select the Preferences sub-tab. Here’s a Knowledge
The base article that goes into it in detail – Site/App Preferences.

Note that you also control the visibility of every field on a field by field basis – public, site members, friends/connections only or only you. You may also control the visibility of nearly everything you post. Again, please check out the Knowledge Base to learn more.

Membership Plan Subscription

Note that accessing your full profile, like groups, and connecting with other members requires a Yearly/Monthly membership plan. If you signed up with only the Free plan, while logged in from the top menu choose Memberships and then select the plan you’d like.

Like any platform that has a user-made-up profile name and paid membership, your site user name is what others on the site see. To process your membership payment your real name and other required information required by the payment processer is required. On OutBuro.com the membership system is separate from the community system.

Got Questions?

Idea for More Income

Consider adding content to the blog. Check out Get Published on OutBüro.

Ideas for that Extra Income

Use the funds in any way you see fit.

If you are an individual Affiliate/Influencer:

  • Spread it out as a well deserved extra income source
  • pay a bill or two
  • pay down/off your credit card debt
  • pay down/off your car
  • pay rent
  • pay down/off your home
  • fund a vacation
  • the possibilities are endless

If your company is an Affiliate/Influencer:

  • apply the funds to business expenses
  • donate the funds to local LGBT non-profit charities
  • throw a great party for your employees or customers
  • it’s up to you

If your organization is an Ambassador:

  • Speak with your accountant on how best to categorize the funds.  Consider it a donation/stipend or income earned
  • Use the funds to fill in the gaps from your members’ donations
  • Use the funds to expand your community services
  • It’s up to you

Understanding last referrer associated

So, let’s say that we have an Affiliate 1 (John) and Affiliate_1 (John) shares a link. Now, visitor_1 clicks on the link, but they don’t sign up as a Yearly/Monthly Member that visit.

54 days later, a second affiliate named Affiliate_2 (Suzzy) shares a link that the same visitor_1 clicks on and then at that time signs up as a Yearly/Monthly Member.  Affiliate_2 (Suzzy) will be attributed and associated with the new Member Subscription account.  Thus Affiliate _2 (Suzzy) will receive the commissions from visitor_1‘s subscription fees.

It is therefore important if you are working to attract visitors to OutBüro that you follow up and do what you can to get them to become subscribed members as soon as possible. Engage them frequently to visit the site to keep your cookie active, more likely their last referrer, and ultimately become a subscribing member so that you get them as part of your Affiliate/Influencer Income Stream.
