Pennsylvania State Representative Brian Sims is riding momentum as he reports a record-setting campaign fundraising haul in his bid for the Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor race reports the LGBTQ Victory Fund, an organization that works to elect out LGBTQ elected officials. The Victory Fund did not release specific numbers. But Sims was a money maker from the start of his candidacy raking in over $300,000 during the first 6 weeks of his campaign back in the spring. Sims has now reported donors from all 50 states and all US territories. The Victory Fund notes if elected Sims will become the first LGBTQ Lieutenant Governor of a US state and just one of nine LGBTQ people elected to state-wide offices anywhere in the country. Pennsylvania has never elected an out LGBTQ person to a statewide office.
