Pride Month is a time to celebrate equality for all, as Ukraine is fighting to preserve its culture, democracy and equality for its citizens.

June is Pride Month when the LGBTQ+ community comes together to celebrate our progress and remember those who fought for our rights. This year, we want to highlight our work at Alternative Spaces and our Ukrainian partner, Onix Systems. We have been working together daily for 15 years, producing high-quality software, innovative applications and complex installations.

What’s more, Alternative Spaces is LGBTQ+ owned and operated, while Onix Systems fully embraces and supports our LGBTQ+ Community. Despite the horrific Russian invasion, Onix continues to work with us daily, even after spending nights sheltering in basements during multiple air raid warnings. Onix is located in a remote area of Ukraine and all 340 team members are safe.

Tech stuff

Hope you’ve noticed, but if not take a moment and refresh this screen. DANG, that was fast. Yes, we’ve made lots of changes to our technical architecture focused on security, speed, reliability, and growth.

Shift to Members Subscription

OutBüro has moved away from an employer-centric model to a model focused on YOU and YOUR interests and YOUR full self. We’ve been asked by numerous people over quite some time to be broader than a professionally focused only. After long deep thought, we have decided to move to a membership subscription model. It also allows OutBuro.com to provide a greater level of services improving your experience. It also provides you an opportunity to create residual income and other befits listed below which if you choose, makes you a central part of the OutBüro community.

Advertising

As a member subscription model, OutBüro will be free from Google Ads and other similar programmatic ads. At some point, we may be open to direct placement ads, but that’s nowhere in the near future and would be very limited.

Access levels

Not logged-in site visitors are granted 7 page views a month before being presented the option to become a site-subscribed member.
Free members are granted access to all site articles and 7 page views a month to groups, profiles, and other members’ profiles.
Yearly/monthly members are granted full site access including the option to post content to the site’s blog and the option to become an affiliate/influencer with residual income earning potential.

You control the visibility of your profile to the field level, where and how you receive notifications, who may direct message your, you may block other members, you may download your community data, and more. See the knowledge base for more.

We’ve implemented a site vistor and member support system that has live-chat, a growing knowledge base for self service support, and ticketing system all in one system for ease of use, consistancy, and issue tracking to better serve you.

John shares that in 2005, after reporting on HIV/AIDS, he received an HIV positive diagnosis. This rather shocking diagnosis caused John to reflect on his life, the challenges, and assessing his ability to reach a positive outlook thriving and surviving life’s storms. Too often still today LGBTQ people are bombarded with the negative message that they are not worthy, they don’t belong, they are not loved for who they are. One must overcome these messages that can become deeply ingrained causing emotional, mental, development, relationship, self-loathing, and potential substance abuse issues. Resilience is reframing that message internally from a state of the victim to a mindset of a survivor, a hero for overcoming.

This mindset shift is very important because negativities attract negativity likewise positive attracts positive. I share my personal story of having to put boundaries in place with people who after years of trying never accepted me for who I am and vehemently kept throwing mystical dogmatic religion in my face. It was difficult, but I had to distance myself from them out of love and respect for myself.

Dëv at the age of 14 started his first company which was a media business focusing on arts, entertainment, and fashion with a focus on diversity and inclusion. At age 16 he started producing events at Fashion Weeks off-site around the world such as in Londo, Milan, Paris, New York, Toronto, and some emerging cities like Berlin with a keen focus on diversity. He was a pioneer and instrumental in bringing diversity awareness to the fashion industry focusing on race, ethnicity, gender, ability, sexuality, and body size/type.

Throughout his life, he has seized opportunities to build a business, his career, and create his life based on seeing opportunities, grading the moment, and running with it. This is about his journey and current projects, and life. Dëv inspires me and I hope he inspires you. It started at the age of 14 when he was looking at a magazine ad and thought that it is targeted at him and his friends get no one looked like the model. He picked up the phone and called the advertiser and his message was heard by the right people. They asked for his input and from there, his company was formed. Amazing, since most 14 year-olds are more concerned with skateboards and video games.

Currently, he is an art curator at a major Toronto museum again focusing on bringing in and displaying art that represents the full spectrum of diversity. In addition to that and raising a child, he is also launching DestiGaytions, an internet platform for the LGBTQ community to plan those amazing lifetime destination travel tours while remaining safe in all locations. The idea for this was sparked when some friends asked him to go on a once in a lifetime trip to a location. His response was he couldn’t because that place has laws where they could arrest him just based on his skin color, faith, or sexual orientation. DestiGaytions aims to inform LGBTQ globe trotter on how to remain safe wherever they go and provide listings of services and accommodations that are safe and friendly that will service you be is attractions, bars, medical facilities, and more. We further chat about how he became the guardian of a baby boy and raising him, for now, seven years. As an adoptive parent myself we chatted about the benefits and life changes of raising a child. Being a bit of a high fashionista herself she helped the men pull together outfits and accessories that suited them. A few years ago mom retired. Tyler not only remained in the business he has transformed it into a fashion house and rebranded it as enFemme. In the cross-dressing and trans community when one dresses as a female it is commonly called enFemme so the name is a strong connection with its customers. enFemme caters to the unique needs of the cross-dressing and male to female transgender community to be a leader in clothing designed to fit a biologically male body dimensions while feminizing in appearance. Further enFemme has designed the industry’s widest line of body-shaping undergarments that conceal the male private parts comfortably and provide breast augmentation.
